INTRODUCTION
Tikkana (1205–1288) was born into a Brahmin family. He translated some portions of Mahabharata into Telugu.
LIFE
Tikkana was born in Nellore district. Tikkana was the main person in resolving the conflict between the Shivaites and Vaishnavites. Tikkana was the Prime Minister of the king of Nellore. He was given the title as Ubhayabashakavimitrudu, as an honour for his great knowledge in literary works.
IMPORTANCE
Tikkana defeated the Buddhist and Jain participants in religious meetings and established Hinduism. He said that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu were one and the same. And he cultivated the habit of bhakti among the people. He was the main person in promoting Hinduism, and he explained the importance, and also the moral values of Hinduism. CONCLUSION
Tikkana was a devotee of both Vishnu and Shiva, and he has shown the benefits of worshipping the gods and showed the spiritual path to the people. Though now he is not physically available in this world, his divine works will tell his name forever. Let us worship this great saint, and let us chant his name and be blessed.
